Maicom Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Policy

  • We have spent an excess of $50 million dollars since 2015 through diverse suppliers. Instead of implementing a quota, we aim to train our team on equity practices and are actively implementing such practices at our firm. We believe that a diverse and inclusive company is a more successful and innovative company.
  • At Maicom we recognize the value diversity brings to our employees, clients and the communities we serve. In 2020:
    • Maicom launched a “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Action Plan” in order to formalize our commitment to continue the growth of Maicom into a leader as a diverse and inclusive company. This Action Plan involved a three-month self assessment as well as a development of a three year action plan.
    • Vendors are evaluated on several criteria including price, quality, customer service, delivery and expertise.
      We aim to reach our program goals by.

Highlights

Maicom Service
  • The highlights of the self assessment and three-year
    action plan involves:

    • Workforce – Currently, 23.5% of our employees are women or people of color. From national data sources, we are more diverse than average skilled trades companies, but our goal is to increase this diversity with equitable hiring and retention policies, and broadening our recruitment pool
    • Employee Education – Currently, all Maicom employees sign our “Fair and Open Diversity Policy” upon joining Maicom. At our annual training in January, we spent a day training all employees on Emotional Intelligence and establishing an inclusive and communicative workforce. Over the next three years, our goal is to continue ongoing trainings on DEI
    • Supplier Diversity – our diversity spend since 2015 has been in excess of $20mm. We decided to not put quotas on this spend for our 3 year-plan, as we want to select the best vendor in all scenarios, but we are putting emphasis on training to make sure that all vendors are treated equitably and given an equal shot at being our partner

      and innovative company”
